Director and Founder
Naomi Haasbroek
Naomi is a qualified librarian who retired from the library and information sector in 2020 after holding senior leadership and professional roles. She served as President of the Library and Information Association of South Africa and as a member of the International Federation of Library Associations Africa Section Committee. She is an Honorary Member of LIASA and received its Lifetime Achievement Award in 2024.
Conference management has been a consistent part of her work. Naomi coordinated and chaired the Local Organising Committee for the 1999 LIASA Conference in Cape Town and continued serving on LIASA’s National Conference Coordinating and Programme Committees from 2002 to 2023.
At NRF iThemba LABS, she managed 60 international conferences, workshops and summer and winter schools between 1999 and 2020. She later joined its Communications Team, contributing to staff communication, website development, branding, exhibitions, dignitary visits and tours.
